The pottery course will begin at noon with light refreshments and introduction to the course, and with one another. The course is residential over a 24-hour period.
The day will proceed with pottery tuition in, hand building, coiling, slabbing and throwing on the wheel. Following on after dinner a “Raku” firing will take place, This is always very exciting as I will provide a bisque pot that you glaze and fire and take home with you. Students will also get the chance to participate with the packing and firing of the kiln this is always a really fun way to finish off the day. This is a wonderful opportunity to discover the joys of working with clay.
Work made on the day but not suitable for bring home can be collected at a later date or posted at additional cost. The following morning you can enjoy the use of the sauna and Jacuzzi after having a leisurely breakfast. Should any student require any extra tutoring or finishing off some work the morning is an ideal time to do this.
